Join FC Milwaukee in Supporting Sahrawi Refugee Youth Soccer Program

Donate New and Gently Used Soccer Gear October 22 - October 26 and October 29 - November 2nd at FC Milwaukee soccer fields

FCMN  families have an awesome opportunity to support the development of a youth soccer program in the Saharawi Refugee Camps in Tindouf, Algeria in northern Africa.  A non-profit group called Not Forgotten International, Inc., (NFI) has been working in the refugee camps since 2002 providing children’s programs, an English Center for young adults, gardens for families using drip irrigation, and most recently a youth soccer program.

NFI received a generous offer from a corporate sponsor to send a shipping container to the refugee camps early in 2013.  Now, they are launching a “Fill a Shipping Container Campaign” to collect donations of items to send to the refugee camps.

We are partnering with NFI and supporting the development of the youth soccer program in the camps.  Currently, children do not have soccer clothing, shoes or necessary equipment to play organized soccer.  But, with our help and the help of others, we can offer hope and assistance through our generosity by giving new and gently used:

Youth soccer shoes and clothing (including socks, jerseys, shorts, and warm-ups)

  • Shin guards and duffel bags
  • Soccer balls
  • Equipment bags
  • Coaches uniforms, shoes and warm-ups
  • Training ladders
  • Soccer goals (6 sets)
  • Individual or Corporate donations - goal of $20,000 for field excavations, fencing, vehicle to transport children, and funding for U.S. and Saharawi coaches
  • A collection bin will be placed near the tent at FC Milwaukee’s soccer fields on Fond du Lac Avenue in Germantown. The bin will be there during team practice times each night.

Collection dates:
October 22 - October 26
October 29 - November 2nd
