FC Milwaukee USSDA Regular League Season Begins This Weekend at Marquette Valley Fields

At Marquette Valley Field’s our U16 and U18 boys will play Real Colorado and the Colorado Rush to open the 2010 campaign. “This will be an interesting open weekend,” states Assistant Academy Director and U18 Academy Coach Rob Harrington. “We have been training indoors and now we have to make the transition to the outdoor game. The work rate of the kids and the concentration level has been good and now it’s go time.” This will mark the team’s first games since the winter showcase in early December. Academy Director and U16 Academy Coach Christian Lavers, “The Academy season is as good as it gets for boys soccer in the United States. We can’t wait to represent FC Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin against the nation’s best clubs and players.”

March 5th Brookfield, WI – With great weather and teams from Milwaukee, Wisconsin Fox Valley, Kenosha, Chicago, Rockford and Minnesota our annual Indoor Tournament promises to produce some great competition. Tournament Director Rob Lestina, “We are excited to have teams from such a diverse area. This is always a great event and we are excited to get the games under way.” Games begin today at 4:30 and the closing games are Sunday at 7:00.

Inaugural ECNL Player Identification Program National Training Camp Concludes; FC Milwaukee's Lindsey Holmes a Participant

The first National Training Camp co-sponsored by the Elite Clubs National League concluded on March 1, 2010 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The 4 day camp was co-sponsored by the ECNL in conjunction with US Club Soccer's id2 Program. The ECNL identified 30 of the 60 players invited into the camp through scouting of ECNL competition in August, December and January, and also paid for the costs for these players to attend the camp. Three players from FC Milwaukee's U17 Girls Blue team have been invited to participate on an international tour with the USYS Region II ODP Team to Portugal from February 27 - March 7. All three players were selected based upon their performances at the USYS Region II ODP Camp in July 2009. "The chance to experience a foreign culture and to play soccer in Europe will be a fantastic opportunity" said FC Milwaukee U17 head coach Christian Lavers. "These players have shown themselves to be among the very best in the Midwest, and they will represent Wisconsin and FC Milwaukee very well. FC Milwaukee U16 player Lindsey Holmes (Verona, WI) was among the 60 players invited to US Club Soccer's upcoming id2 National Training Camp in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, consisting of players from the 1994, 1995 and 1996 age groups. Lindsey Holmes was one of 30 players from the 1994 birth year invited to the camp based on their individual performances in ECNL competition over the past several months. The ECNL will be subsidizing the cost of the training camp for these 30 players.College Signing Day

28 Current FC Milwaukee Players Make College Commitments On The NCAA Signing Date, Wednesday February 3rd. FC Milwaukee seniors celebrated their collegiate soccer commitments at Maggiano’s Little Italy with parents, coaches and FC Milwaukee Board members. College Coordinator Rob Harrington comments on the nights events. “This is our second signing night party and to say the least it is a special event. These kids have played soccer for almost their entire life and to be able to continue to play competitively in college is quite an accomplishment.”
